Shame Beliefs and Why They're the MOST Toxic

Updated: Sep 22

"Shame beliefs are rooted in the perception that we are defective, broken or something is wrong with us." -Glenn S. Cohen

Our inner operating system tries its best to validate a belief we adopted about ourselves or others.

The question is, does the belief at the core of your story have you validating an identity that leads you toward a destiny you desire or one that keeps trying to learn a lesson?

Our beliefs come in two forms: empowered and disempowered. Empowered beliefs support an identity that leads you to show up honoring your Mindful Empowered values, enhancing your personal power and acts as a compass to achieve your destiny.

Disempowered beliefs come in two forms: fear and shame. Fear beliefs are decisions made during moments of elevated emotions where you assign a meaning to a certain context that is external of the self.

Shame beliefs are decisions made during moments of elevated emotions where you assign meaning to a certain context that is about of the self.

Shame beliefs are rooted in the perception that we are defective, broken or something is wrong with us. Shame beliefs are the most toxic form of disempowered beliefs. It metastasizes and spreads our disempowered story like cancer. We come to believe the language of the story which leads us to re-enact and re-enforce our disempowered identity which will then direct the outcome of our destiny narrated by our story.

If you find yourself repeating patterns that cause you to suffer, I suggest you mindfully change the script of your story with new empowered language. This will serve you to move in the direction of your desired destiny, which will lead you to achieve your consciously chosen outcomes.
